The world has changed considerably so far in 2020, and we’ve all had to adapt. And that adaptability extends to real estate as well. While most people already start their home search online, new social distancing measures make the virtual search even more important. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of your virtual home shopping in Kelowna’s Mission area.
You can find new home developments online by adding a few keywords to your search. For example, instead of typing ‘new homes for sale’, try searching ‘new home development in Kelowna Upper Mission’. Try other words in place of ‘development’ such as construction, presentation centre, or showhome.
Photography is obviously a great start to get a feel for what a space looks like inside and out, including views from the property – such as lake or mountain views. But looking at the floor plan gives you a clearer idea of the size of the space and how it is laid out. Many properties have their floor plans in the listing, especially new development websites, but if not, you can request it from your realtor.
The world of real estate has been adapting quickly to recent social distancing guidelines. One developing trend is the use of virtual tours. Virtual tours have been around for a few years now but the popularity has surged recently. With a virtual tour, you can interactively immerse yourself into the atmosphere of a home. Leisurely peruse, room-by-room, at your own speed and view as many times as you like — a permanent showhome at your fingertips!
At Kestrel Ridge we are in the final construction stage of our new show home and will be providing an in depth virtual tour experience of this home. We will be sharing it as soon as possible. Stay tuned for updates!
You can gather plenty of information with Google Maps, including the commute time, the distance to amenities, and detailed directions. There’s also that ‘little yellow man’ in the corner that you can drag and drop in front of your prospective house. From there, you can see what the home looks like up close and ‘walkaround’ the neighbourhood.
Your home developer or agent will be knowledgeable about the area and can also provide information that isn’t listed online. For example, they can inform you of businesses in the community and local amenities.
With so much information online at your disposal, you can shop for a home in Kelowna’s Upper Mission area easily. To digitally experience one of the luxury paired homes at Kestrel Ridge, you can watch our showhome video of our Falcon floor plan and view all floor plans.
