There’s plenty to do in Kelowna and Upper Mission during the spring season!

With the warmth of summer soon upon us, it’s the perfect time to plan how to experience the best of Kelowna. Though social distancing restrictions are still in place, there is still plenty to do during the upcoming months. We at Kestrel Ridge love to support local business and we would like to share just a few with you that you can enjoy.

Enjoy Your Local Farmer’s Markets

Kelowna is not only known for its geographic beauty, but it’s also nationally and internationally renowned for its locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. To get a taste of what Upper Mission has to offer, check out KLO Farm Market for locally grown produce. And if you’re looking for essential oils, teas, and other apothecary goods, visit Okanagan Lavender and Herb Farm.

Get Out on the Water

Okanagan Lake is 135 km long, so you’ll have no problem keeping at least two meters apart. You can swim, fish, wakeboard, seadoo, or just pack a picnic and go for a boat ride. Only a 15 minute drive from Kestrel Ridge, you can fuel at Kelowna’s Downtown Marinaby appointment. If you would like to hire a boat tour, Luxury Lake Rentals is currently offering a 10% discount.

Savour Local Fare

While restaurants in Kelowna and Upper Mission are still closed for in-person seating, there are still many local establishments offering either takeout or delivery. Dunneziesis close to Kestrel Ridge, and also happens to serve up some of the region’s best pizza. If you're in the mood for local craft beer, Barn Owl Brewery will hit the spot. And there’s Summerhill Organic Bistro for those looking for organic food made by an award-winning chef.

Take a Hike

In a time of social distancing, many are wary of heading outside. However, Kelowna has an abundance of regional parks that offer plenty of room to breathe. There is Lochview Trail, which offers great views of the lake. And not far from Kestrel Ridge, Mission Creek Greenway Regional Park is great for families looking for a tranquil stroll.

Create An At-Home Wine Tasting

People travel from all over just to taste the wine that Kelowna has to offer. Luckily, many wineries are now delivering right to your door. Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Cedar Creek Winery, Tantalus, and Nagging Doubts are just a few of Kelowna’s Upper Mission best wineries offering delivery.

Set up the charcuterie, check your wine pairings, and get ready for a tasting of your own!

Get on the Greens

Golf season is open for business in Kelowna! Mission Creek Golf Club, The Harvest Golf Club, and Gallagher’s Canyon are all close to Kestrel Ridge, and open with social distancing procedures in place.

And of course, you can come to visit our new show home. It is open from 12-4 pm, Friday to Sunday. We will be allowing one group at a time to enter and physical distancing of two meters will be maintained at all times. There will also be hand sanitizer available. Contact us anytime to set up a private tour.
